Restrictive diets are really tough to stick to. We often recommend the opposite, especially if you’re just starting out. When starting out, we need some easy wins to keep us motivated. If the first thing we do is a failure, it’s really tough to stay with it. This is why we recommend looking at what you’re eating and try to identify something healthy you can add.
Maybe this means prioritizing protein, adding a piece of fruit, or just drinking more water throughout the day. The trick is start small and build from there. When you learned to drive, you didn’t just head out on the highway. You started in a parking lot, then maybe drove around your neighborhood. As you got more comfortable, you take on busier streets and longer drives. Nutrition should be approached the same way. Pick one thing and get great at that before adding the next goal.
It doesn’t matter where you start, you just have to start.
