Our July Member of the Month is Mike! He joined us about a year ago because his at home workouts were getting stale and he wanted a new challenge. CrossFit definitely did that! Some things came easily and others took some patience. For him, the biggest challenge was mobility, which requires a black belt in patience 😜. To nobody’s surprise, Mike puts the same effort into mobility as he does his workouts, making time to work on mobility at home and before classes. It’s for this and a slew of other reasons that we get to congratulate Mike as our Member of the Month!
1. What were your goals when you started CrossFit?
The primary goal was to make a change from my normal fitness routine as I was losing motivation and it was becoming hard to stay committed. Additionally, I was looking to challenge myself beyond traditional fitness routines and exercises.
2. How long have you been at Free Will CrossFit?
About 11 months
3. What is one health/fitness goal that you plan to achieve in the next 6 months?
Over the next 6 months I hope to further increase my mobility and address some of my weaknesses. I would also like to incorporate more variety in my healthy meal prep.
4. What do you do for a living?
I am Executive VP for a non-profit, Communities In Schools of Eastern PA. In my leadership role I am responsible for driving strategic and operational plans while managing the company’s human resources, finance and operational departments.
5. You have control of the music. What artists/songs will dominate the playlist?
It depends on the company and the setting. In most cases it would be Journey.
